War Child UK is an independent and impartial international non-governmental organization investing in a peaceful future for children and young people affected by armed conflict. We strive to empower children and young people while enabling adults to bring about positive lasting change in the lives of conflict affected children and young people.
Background
Can’t Wait to Learn Can’t Wait to Learn (CWTL) proposes new (cost-) effective solutions to the urgent challenges facing education for children in emergencies. By utilising innovative technological solutions with a focus on serious gaming, CWTL has ambitions to increase the number of children with access to quality education in mathematics and literacy in areas affected by conflict in Africa and the Middle East, including Jordan. Developing fresh, interactive materials based on the national curricula and creating effective partnership structures to distribute them creates new opportunities for making education accessible to children who have been excluded from education, thus increasing children’s resilience and preparing them for a positive future.
Throughout the first school semester of 2018/2019, the CWTL programme will be implemented and evaluated in the 2nd directorate of the Zarqa district of Jordan through the school system.
