We are looking for a Head of Finance to lead the War Child - finance function across the organisation, including both the UK and country offices. Reporting to the Director of Resources, you will provide strategic oversight of War Child’s finances by setting annual financial priorities against longer term strategy, provide sound financial advice to management and develop strong internal control systems. You will lead a team of seven (7), who support the organisation in all aspects of financial management, including developing suitable financial policies and procedures, preparing accounts for statutory audit and financial training and capacity building across the organisation. War Child is a growing organisation and therefore the role holder will be expected to offer flexibility and dynamic thinking to proactively deliver change and sustained developments to improve the organisation’s financial capacity and mitigate risks as the organisation develops.
The Head of Finance leads the finance function, ensuring that the financial management, reporting & control environment are fit for purpose to support War Child’s working environment and future growth. You lead the finance function across the organisation, covering the UK and overseas offices, so you will have experience of working in a UK non-profit environment and ideally international experience as well. You will business partner with the senior management team, providing information, analysis and advice in your area of expertise to support informed decision making. You are a strategic thinker, who can develop long term plans in War Child, ensuring that your team remains adaptable to the needs of the organisation.
