This programme will enable boys and girls to enjoy their rights to be protected from the worst forms of child labour in the Central African Republic (CAR), the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Ethiopia. It will specifically focus on those forcibly recruited into armed conflict and artisanal mining used in prostitution, forced labour or hazardous work in fragile context.
Planned duration: 2 -3 months from inception to delivery of the final report;

a.Gold supply chain mapping and analysis report (not more than 20 pages): The gold supply chain mapping and analysis will be merged with the global level value chain analysis to build a full picture of the value chains which can be published, as well as inform relevant pilot activities at different stages of the value chain.
The report format will be defined and agreed based on the service provider’s methodology and proposed outputs.
b.Local value chains mapping and analysis report (not more than 20 pages): The report should reply to all the proposed research questions and be sensitive to ethnic, gender, and wealth differences within the population measure the differences in economic opportunities between these groups and identify important existing or potential causes of conflict or marginalization.
The report should include:
- Context and background:
· Socio-political - population, ethnic groups, culture, religion, education, disability, gender issues and migration, governance, political structures, local government structure, key polices affecting the labour market;
· Economic context in relations to the local labour market opportunities for the targeted population
· Geography – location, climate, topography, agro-ecological zones, infrastructure (including transport networks);
· Conflict/insecurity – socio-political outline of conflict, including background to conflict, description of the warring parties & strategies, groups most at risk, population displacement;
Methodology for age, gender and disability disaggregated data collection
Analysis and findings: findings will inform the implementation of livelihoods activities under Outcome 2 as well as relevant pilot interventions under Outcome 4 of the EAPEC project.
