It’s an exciting time to join the Fundraising Engagement team at War Child. The Digital Marketing Manager is a new role, responsible for managing and optimising our external platforms and websites, enhancing user experience and conversion rates through analysis and A/B testing, driving e-commerce sales performance, and supporting our priority objectives of growing our scalable and sustainable income through digital marketing activities. Supported closely by the Senior Marketing Manager, you will take an audience-led, evidence-based approach to every area of your role and a continuous learning/improvement cycle.

Your role

Working in War Child’s Communications and Content team, your remit will be to manage and optimise our external platforms and websites, including our ecommerce platforms, and our other digital tools. You will enhance user experience and conversion rates through analysis and A/B testing, collaborating with website developers and agencies, to help us achieve our KPI’s. You will work with the wider team to develop marketing plans to drive e-commerce sales performance, setting targets and leveraging a mix of marketing channels. You will regularly use data and insights to achieve marketing objectives, including regular reporting on digital channels, and supporting the department with data acquisition plans and email marketing.

Reporting directly to the Senior Marketing Manager, you will hold a pivotal role in achieving our ambitious fundraising targets and marketing goals.

Your responsibilities

  • Take ownership of account management for our ecommerce and subscription platforms, including The Right To Dance, Shop For Good, and War Child Records, working with the Senior Marketing Manager to drive strategy, development, implementation, and maintenance to optimise their performance and support our fundraising targets.
  • Improve user experience and conversion rates across our platforms and website through analysis and A/B testing. Collaborate with website developers and agencies to develop a testing roadmap and implement changes.
  • Oversee the Digital Marketing Executive’s management of the War Child website, ensuring its proper functioning and adherence to branding and content guidelines.
  • Drive e-commerce sales performance, working with Project Managers to set targets, and identifying and leveraging marketing channels such as Google Search, social advertising, and email marketing.
  • Provide day to day account management of our email marketing system Dotdigital. Work with teams across the organisation to develop engaging and targeted email programs and provide regular reporting on email campaign performance.
  • Work closely with the data team to ensure successful implementation and ongoing maintenance of features across platforms and digital tools, including the roll out of a preference centre and management of our digital tool Form Assembly.
  • Take ownership of regular reporting for digital channels, working closely with the Digital Marketing Executive to provide insightful analysis, identify trends, and communicate performance metrics to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Contribute to creating a culture committed to the safeguarding of children and adults and compliant to WCUK’s Safeguarding and PSEAH (Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse & Harassment) Policies.

You are

  • Knowledgeable and experienced in managing websites, ecommerce, and subscription platforms.
  • Experienced in working with and managing a diverse range of digital tools and technologies.
  • Possess a strong understanding of user experience principles and have practical experience in conducting analysis and A/B testing to identify areas of improvement.
  • Knowledgeable and capable of driving e-commerce sales performance, with familiarity in marketing channels like Google Search, social advertising, and email marketing to optimise promotion and conversions.
  • Experienced in day-to-day account management of external agencies.
  • Data driven with experience of setting KPI’s and providing regular reporting for digital channels.
  • Capable of strategic thinking and aligning digital marketing efforts with fundraising targets and organisational objectives.
  • An excellent verbal and written communicator, with skills to convey insights, recommendations, and performance metrics to various stakeholders within the organisation.
