United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland: Head of People and Achievement

We are looking for a Head of People and Achievement to lead the War Child - Human Resources (HR) function across the organisation and to manage the Office Management function in the UK. Reporting to the Director of Resources, you will maximise the potential of War Child’s people, through the development and operation of devolved human resources strategy, policies and activities, which reflect and reinforce organisational values and objectives. You will lead a team of five (5), who support the organisation in all aspects of people management, such as setting annual HR priorities for the organisation, overseeing recruitment, performance management, learning and development, employee wellbeing, employee data information management, compensation and benefits, employee relations and organisational development. This an exciting opportunity for an individual who thrives in a rapidly growing organisation and changing environment.

The Head of People and Achievement leads the people management function for the organisation and oversees office management in the UK. You have significant impact on all employees and volunteers, by setting mid- to long-term strategic HR direction, determining annual priorities for the function and developing short- to mid-term projects and activities. You play a crucial role in leading change related to people management practices across the organisation, by closely collaborating with senior management, embedding professional practices and aligning with employment legislation in the different countries we work in. You engage with internal and external stakeholders to investigate and solve complex issues to mitigate significant HR risks to the organisation
