War Child UK (WCUK) seeks an experienced sport for development professional. The candidate will develop a methodology to implement a football-based programme linked to wider WCUK work in Children protection (CP), psychosocial support (PSS) and livelihoods.
The consultancy key objectives are: • Develop a sound methodology based on work done to date and information from current pilot projects in CAR and initial work in the occupied Palestinian territories. • Work closely with programme quality team to ensure that the methodology aligns with strategy and programming • Advise on the technical approach of the programme by establishing and identifying synergies between sports programming and Child Protection and PSS activities; working closely with country and programme quality teams. • Develop a realistic budget that details full and realistic costs of the intervention. • Connect War Child with new partners; and chart a course to scale up. • Design needs assessments templates and support country teams to implement these. • Design a risk assessment and risk mitigation strategy. • Make recommendations as to what capacity is needed both centrally and in country (technical /management) and what profiles are needed to ensure project successed to wider WCUK work in Child protection (CP), psychosocial support (PSS) and livelihoods.
